How much does a custom neon sign cost?

The price depends mostly on the width. Custom text signs start at $189.99 for 20 in wide, logo signs at $289.99, ready-made designs at $99.99 and real glass neon at $479.99; color changing (RGB) and the outdoor build cost extra. The designer shows the price as you type, and the cost guide explains what changes it.

What size neon sign should I get?

Allow about 2 in of width for each character on your longest line, spaces included, so a 10-character name needs about 20 in. Over a sofa or a bed, a sign about two-thirds of the furniture width looks right; behind a wedding table or on a party backdrop, 36 to 48 in is a good place to start. The size guide shows common sizes on a wall.

How long does it take to get my sign?

We send a free design proof first. After you approve it, standard production takes 15 to 20 days and transit in the US 3 to 5 days, so plan on about 3 to 4 weeks from approval. If you need it sooner, add rush production.

How does the free design proof work?

Once you order, we draw your sign as a mockup with its size, font, colors and backboard and email it to you. Revisions are free and unlimited, and nothing is made until you approve it. The proof guide shows what to check.

Can I choose my own font and colors?

Yes. The designer has script, block and decorative fonts, and any other font can be matched on your proof. There are 18 tube colors, several colors in one sign cost nothing extra, and color changing (RGB) costs extra. The font guide and the color guide help you choose.

Can you turn my logo into a neon sign?

Yes. Send any file you have, ideally a vector file, though a photo or a sketch is enough to start, and we redraw it as tube paths on a free mockup. Detail too fine for tube is UV printed on the board, or choose the printed backboard version to keep the full artwork. Start with the custom logo neon sign.

What is the difference between LED neon and glass neon?

LED neon is a flexible silicone tube with LEDs inside, pressed into clear acrylic and run on 12 V DC; it gives off little heat and is less fragile. Real glass neon is hand-bent glass tube filled with neon or argon gas and lit by a high-voltage transformer, and people choose it for its look. We make both, as LED vs glass neon and our glass neon signs explain.

Can a neon sign go outside?

Yes, with the outdoor build: IP67 rated tube and sealed parts, with a test report. It lasts longest under a roof or awning, and the adapter and plug must stay dry, indoors or in a covered weatherproof outlet box. See the outdoor neon sign and the indoor vs outdoor guide.

Are LED neon signs safe?

Our signs run on 12 V DC, and the tube gives off little heat. The plug-in power supply is cULus Listed (E466625), Class II double insulated and fully encapsulated, with no fan; it and the LED light source are the certified parts. Keep the adapter dry and in the open, and read are LED neon signs safe for placement tips.

Can I leave my neon sign on all night?

The LED tube is rated for 50,000 hours and runs on 12 V DC with little heat, so long evenings are what it is made for. As with any plug-in light, keep the adapter in the open and dry, and switch the sign off when nobody is home. The dimmer lets you turn it down to a soft glow for the night.

How do I hang my neon sign?
Can I hang a neon sign without drilling?

Yes. Choose no-drill adhesive mounts: a plate at each corner sticks to a smooth, clean, dry wall and holds the board by its holes. Textured or freshly painted walls hold less, and the no-drill guide explains how to prepare the wall.

Does my sign come with a dimmer or a remote?

Yes. Every LED sign comes with a dimmer, either an in-line knob or a remote dimmer, chosen when you order. Color-changing (RGB) signs come with a controller and a touch remote for picking a color or letting it cycle. Replacements and upgrades are in power, dimmers and remotes.

Can a neon sign run on batteries?

Yes. The battery box holds 8 AA batteries and runs a sign for about 4 to 5 hours per set, which suits a wedding table or an event without an outlet. It is also a free power choice when you order a custom LED sign; batteries are not included.

How much electricity does a neon sign use?

An LED neon sign draws about 8 to 12 W per meter of tube, roughly 2.5 to 3.5 W per foot. Multiply by the tube length of your sign to get its watts. The energy use guide shows the math.

How long do LED neon signs last?

The LED tube is rated for 50,000 hours, which is about 17 years at 8 hours a day. LEDs fade slowly over the years rather than burning out at once. See how long LED neon signs last and the care guide.

What warranty comes with my sign?

Our signs carry a 2-year warranty with free repair. If something stops working, try the simple checks in the troubleshooting guide, then contact us with your order number and we arrange the repair.

Do you make signs for businesses and trade orders?

Yes: logo signs, window and storefront signs, light boxes and signs for several locations. For repeat orders, more than one location or a larger job, use the trade form for a quote. For a single logo sign, start with logo and business neon.

Can I get my sign by a certain date?

Tell us the date when you order. Rush production moves your sign ahead: Priority takes 10 to 14 days and Express 7 to 9 days, plus 3 to 5 days in transit, counted from the day you approve the proof. If a date cannot be met, we say so before production starts.
