Custom Real Glass Neon Sign, Hand-Bent, 20 to 60 in
Real neon: glass tube bent by hand and filled with neon or argon, for your text or logo, 20 to 60 in wide. Free design proof, then about 4 weeks.
Made to order. We email a free design proof first and make nothing until you approve it.
Glass neon is the original: a glass tube bent by hand over a flame to a full-size pattern, filled with neon or argon gas and lit by a transformer. The light comes from the gas glowing inside the whole tube, not through a diffusing sleeve, and that deep, even glow is why people choose it.
Send us your text or logo and choose the width, from 20 to 60 in, a dimmable or non-dimmable build, and indoor or outdoor. There are 16 glow colors. Pure neon gas glows red-orange; most other colors come from argon in tubes with a coating inside or in colored glass.
Glass has rules that LED neon does not. The tube is 6, 8 or 10 mm as standard, 12 mm on request, and every bend is made by hand, so very thin strokes and fine detail have limits. Where the tube jumps from one letter to the next, the glass is painted black so only the letters glow. If part of your design has to be simplified, our designer tells you on the free design proof, before production.
The backing can be a clear backboard, a metal frame or no backboard at all, and the sign can hang on a wall, hang from cables or stand on its own. After you approve the proof, production takes about 4 weeks before the sign ships.
Glass neon runs on a high-voltage transformer, unlike our 12 V LED neon, and it is more fragile in shipping and handling. The tube itself rarely fails. When something needs attention after years of use, it is almost always the transformer or an electrode, and both can be repaired.
How to choose
Choose glass neon for its look: the deep, even glow of gas in glass, for a bar, a restaurant or a collector’s wall. Choose LED neon instead if the sign will be moved often, taken to events, or needs to run on 12 V or batteries.
For width, remember that glass needs room for its bends. Bold words and simple logos work best, and very small lettering may have to be simplified. The wider the sign, the more detail the tube can show, so give a detailed logo a larger width.
Questions
Is this real neon?
Yes. The tube is glass bent by hand and filled with neon or argon gas, lit by a high-voltage transformer.
How is it different from LED neon?
Glass neon glows from the gas in the whole tube and has the classic look; it runs on a high-voltage transformer and is more fragile. LED neon is flexible silicone tube on 12 V DC and handles more easily.
Can any design be made in glass?
Most text and logos can. Very thin strokes and fine detail have limits in glass, and our designer tells you on the proof if part of the design must be simplified.
How long does it take?
We send a free design proof first. After you approve it, production takes about 4 weeks before the sign ships.
Can glass neon be repaired?
Yes. The tube rarely fails; when a repair is needed it is almost always the transformer or an electrode, and both are repairable.
Can it go outdoors?
Yes, if you choose the outdoor build when you order.
