Neon signs by project
Bar and restaurant
In a bar or restaurant, neon does two jobs: it sets the mood and it puts your name in the background of guests' photos. Start with a ready design for the back bar, or put your name or logo in neon.

What you need
- Size
- Behind the bar or on a feature wall seen across the room, 36 to 48 in; for a logo wall, measure and leave clear wall around it. Shelves and bar carts take 20 to 24 in.
- Color
- Orange, golden yellow and warm white suit a relaxed room; pink and ice blue suit a cocktail bar. Match your brand colors on the proof at no extra cost.
- Backboard
- Clear acrylic cut to shape shows the wall behind it, and a black board looks crisp on brick or wood. If a fire inspector asks for a flame-retardant board, we make it in polycarbonate.
- Mounting
- Wall standoffs hold the sign about 1 in off the wall and are the steadiest choice in a busy room. Over the bar, ceiling hanging cables work too.
- Power
- Keep the adapter away from sinks, taps and ice wells, and plan the cable route before the sign goes up. A patio sign needs the outdoor build, with the adapter kept dry under cover.
- When to order
- Production takes 15 to 20 days after you approve the free proof, then 3 to 5 days in transit. For an opening date, add rush production, which brings production down to 10 to 14 or 7 to 9 days.

How it comes together
- Decide which walls get neon: the back bar, a photo wall, the patio or the window.
- Choose a ready-made design, or send your logo or name.
- Measure each wall and pick the widths.
- Tell us about outdoor use or a flame-retardant board before we draw the proof.
- Approve the free proof.
- Mount the signs on standoffs, with each adapter dry and out of the way.
Tip: Put your name or logo on the sign by the entrance or the photo wall; that is the one that ends up in guests' photos.
