Party backdrop
A neon sign turns a balloon wall or a backdrop frame into the place everyone wants a photo. Unlike the balloons, it goes back in its box and comes out for the next party.
What you need
- Size
- On a backdrop frame or a balloon wall, 30 to 36 in is a good place to start; leave a clear margin on each side. On a cake or gift table, 20 to 24 in is enough.
- Color
- Hot pink and golden yellow stand out against balloons; light pink suits a baby shower. With color changing (RGB), one sign can match each party's colors.
- Backboard
- Clear acrylic cut to shape lets the balloons or the backdrop show through. A black board helps on a light or patterned backdrop.
- Mounting
- Choose ceiling hanging cables: fix the cables to the frame, clip the snap hooks into the board and slide the grippers to level it. For a table, the clear free-standing base holds the sign upright.
- Power
- Plug in near the backdrop, or add a DC extension cable of 6.5 to 16 ft. Without an outlet, the battery box gives about 4 to 5 hours per set of 8 AA batteries.
- When to order
- Order 5 to 6 weeks before the party: the free proof comes first, then 15 to 20 days of production and 3 to 5 days in transit. With less time, add rush production.

How it comes together
- Measure the backdrop frame or the wall the sign goes on.
- Pick a ready-made design, or type a name and an age in the designer.
- Choose the width and approve the free proof.
- Check where the nearest outlet is, or add the battery box.
- Build the backdrop first, then hang the sign last so it stays level.
- After the party, store the sign flat in its box for next time.
Tip: Hang the sign a little above head height, so it still shows above the people standing in front of it in photos.
