Mounting kits and stands for neon signs

Every LED sign we make comes with the mounting kit for the installation you choose when you order. The parts here are spares and extras: for a second location, a lost part, a bigger sign or a change of plan, such as moving a wall sign into a window. All of them fit our boards with 1/4 in holes.

Standoffs are polished stainless steel. A round barrel screws to the wall and a cap screws on through the hole in the acrylic board, so the sign floats about 1 in off the wall. Each comes with a wood screw and a plastic wall anchor; for masonry, use the right anchor for the wall. Sets of 4 or 8.

The ceiling hanging kit has a round disc that screws to the ceiling with three screws, a thin stainless steel cable, and an adjustable gripper with a spring snap hook that clips into the board. Slide the gripper to set the height and level the sign, then trim the spare cable. Two cables suit most signs; four hold a wide sign or one that must not swing. Use it for a shop window, over a bar or on a backdrop frame.

No-drill adhesive mounts are for renters, tile, glass and anywhere holes are not wanted. A clear adhesive plate with a threaded stud goes at each corner; peel the film, press it firmly onto a smooth, clean, dry surface and wait before hanging the sign. Textured or freshly painted walls hold less.

The acrylic stand is a clear 8 mm base with a slot. The straight bottom edge of the sign slides in, and the sign stands on a bar, counter, desk or shelf. Choose a base about six tenths of the sign width, such as a 10 in base for a 16 to 20 in sign. The hanging guide and the no-drill guide show each step.

  • Use an anchor that suits your wall, whether drywall or masonry.
  • Choose 4 hanging cables for a wide sign or one that must not swing.
  • For no-drill mounts, clean the wall, press each plate firmly and wait before hanging.
  • A stand needs a straight bottom edge on the sign; send a photo if you are not sure.
  • Plan the cable route to the outlet before you fix anything.

Questions

Do I need to buy a mounting kit with my sign?
How far off the wall do the standoffs hold the sign?

About 1 in, so the sign floats clear of the wall and casts a little light onto it.

How many hanging cables do I need?

Two cables hold most signs. Choose four for a wide sign, or one that must stay still, such as in a doorway or a drafty window.

Will no-drill mounts hold on any wall?

They hold best on smooth, sealed surfaces such as painted drywall, tile and glass. Textured or freshly painted walls hold less, and the no-drill guide explains how to prepare the wall.

Can I turn a wall sign into a tabletop sign?

Yes, if the bottom edge of its board is straight. Add an acrylic stand about six tenths of the sign width; send us a photo if you are not sure it fits.
