Neon signs by project
Storefront window
A lit sign in the window tells people walking or driving past that you are open. Hang an OPEN sign or your name behind the glass, facing the street.

What you need
- Size
- For a window read from the sidewalk, 24 to 36 in; for a wide window or a busy road, go bigger. Some cities limit how much of the glass a sign may cover, so check before you choose a large size.
- Color
- The red and blue of the OPEN design are easy to spot from the street. For your name or logo, use your brand colors on the proof.
- Backboard
- A clear board cut to shape or a clear rectangle keeps the window see-through. From inside the shop you see the back of the sign, so the words read backwards there.
- Mounting
- Hang the sign on ceiling hanging cables just behind the glass, facing out. Use 4 cables for a wide sign or a window next to a door that opens often.
- Power
- Plan the cable route from the sign to the nearest outlet before you hang it; a DC extension cable adds up to 16 ft. Switch the sign off at closing, with the dimmer or at the plug.
- When to order
- Production takes 15 to 20 days after you approve the free proof, then 3 to 5 days in transit. For a grand opening, add rush production.

- Pick the OPEN design, or send your logo or name.
- Measure the window and choose the width.
- Approve the free proof.
- Fix the ceiling discs above the window and hang the sign facing out.
- Level it with the cable grippers and run the cable to the outlet.
Tip: Look at the sign from across the street at dusk, then slide the cable grippers until it sits at eye level for someone on the sidewalk.
