Ceiling Hanging Kit for Neon Signs, 2 or 4 Steel Cables
Thin stainless steel cables with ceiling discs and snap hooks to hang an acrylic neon sign in a window, over a bar or from a backdrop frame. 2 or 4 cables.
Hanging a sign on cables lets it float in a shop window, over a bar or a counter, or in front of a backdrop at an event, wherever there is no wall to fix it to.
Each cable set has three parts:
- a round ceiling disc that screws to the ceiling with three screws and grips the cable in its center
- a thin stainless steel cable with a fine 7 x 7 strand
- an adjustable gripper with a spring snap hook at the lower end, which clips into the hole in the acrylic board
To hang the sign, fix the discs to the ceiling above the holes of the board and clip the snap hooks into the holes. Then slide each gripper along its cable to set the height and level the sign. Trim the spare cable once you are happy with it.
Choose 2 cables for most signs. Choose 4 for a wide sign, or for one that must not swing, such as near a door that opens often.
The hooks fit the 1/4 in holes in our acrylic signs. Every LED sign ordered with ceiling hanging cables already includes a kit; this one is a spare or an extra, for a second sign, a new location or a lost part.
Plan the power before you fix the discs: check where the nearest outlet is. If it is too far for the adapter cable, a DC extension cable adds 6.5 to 16 ft.
How to choose
Two cables hold most signs. Choose four for a wide sign, for one in a doorway or under a ceiling fan where it could swing, or when it must hang still and level in a window.
Before you buy, look at the ceiling above the spot: the discs screw into it, so there needs to be something solid to screw into. For an event backdrop, the cables can hang from the top bar of the frame instead. Count the holes along the top of your sign’s board; each one takes one cable.
Questions
Can I use it in a shop window?

How do I level the sign?
Slide each gripper along its cable until the sign hangs level, then trim the spare cable.
Do I need 2 or 4 cables?
Two for most signs. Four for a wide sign or one that must not swing.
Will it fit my sign?
The snap hooks clip into 1/4 in holes, the size used on all our acrylic signs.
Can I hang it from a backdrop frame?
Yes. The kit is made for ceilings and backdrop frames alike, which makes it handy for weddings and events.
