Clear Acrylic Stand Base for Neon Signs, 8 mm, 6 to 16 in
A clear 8 mm acrylic base with a slot that holds an acrylic neon sign upright on a bar, counter, desk or shelf. Lengths of 6, 10 and 16 in.
This clear acrylic base turns a flat acrylic neon sign into one that stands on its own. It is 8 mm thick, with a slot along the top: the straight bottom edge of the sign slides into the slot, and the sign stands upright on a bar, a counter, a desk or a shelf.
The base is meant to be shorter than the sign and to sit centered under it. From the front it reads as a thin clear line, and the sign seems to stand on almost nothing.
Three lengths, at about six tenths of the sign’s width:
- 6 in, for small signs about 10 in wide
- 10 in, for signs about 16 to 20 in wide
- 16 in, for signs about 24 to 30 in wide
Every tabletop neon sign we make already comes with its base. This one is a spare, a replacement, or a way to stand up a sign you already have.
To turn a wall sign into a tabletop sign, the bottom edge of its board must be straight. Signs cut closely around script letters often have a curved or uneven bottom edge; if you are not sure about yours, send us a photo before ordering.
For a table with no outlet nearby, our battery box runs a sign for about 4 to 5 hours on a set of 8 AA batteries.
How to choose
Measure the width of your sign and multiply by about 0.6: that is the base length to aim for. A 20 in sign takes the 10 in base; a 24 or 30 in sign takes the 16 in base; a small sign about 10 in wide takes the 6 in base.
Then check the bottom edge of the board. It must be straight to sit in the slot. If yours is curved or follows the letters, send us a photo and we will tell you whether a base will work.
Questions
Which length do I need?
About six tenths of your sign’s width: the 10 in base for a 16 to 20 in sign, the 16 in base for a 24 to 30 in sign, and the 6 in base for a small sign about 10 in wide.
Will it fit a sign I already have?
It fits an acrylic sign whose board has a straight bottom edge. If you are not sure, send us a photo before ordering.
Why is the base shorter than the sign?
A short base centered under the sign keeps the look light: from the front you see the sign, not the stand.
Does my tabletop sign come with a base?
Yes. Every tabletop neon sign includes its base; this is a spare or a replacement.
Can the sign run without an outlet?
Yes, with our 8 x AA battery box, which runs a sign for about 4 to 5 hours per set of batteries.
