Good Times Neon Sign, Retro Orange Script

“Good Times” in orange retro script has the look of an old roadside sign, without the glass. It works as party decor for one night, but it is really a sign to leave up: over a home bar, on a game room wall or along the back of a covered patio where friends gather on summer evenings.

Orange is a warm color that sits well with wood, brick and string lights. The tube is flexible silicone LED neon, pressed into a groove routed in clear acrylic about 1/4 in thick, with rounded ends and smooth curves where the script loops. The retro letters are drawn with one tube along the centre of each stroke.

For a patio, choose the outdoor build. The tube and connections are sealed to IP67, with a test report, and the sign lasts longest under a roof or awning, out of all-day rain and sun. The plug-in adapter must stay dry: plug it in indoors or in a covered weatherproof outlet box, and add a DC extension cable if the outlet is some way off.

Indoors, the standard build is all you need. A dimmer comes with every sign so you can turn it down for a quiet evening, and the power draw is small, about 2.4 to 3.7 W per foot of tube.

Wall standoffs float it about 1 in off brick, siding or drywall, with the right anchor for each. On a smooth, sealed indoor wall, no-drill mounts avoid holes. Pick the outdoor build for any spot that can catch rain or sprinkler spray.
