Train Hard Neon Sign for Gyms

“Train Hard” in blue bold italic letters with a dumbbell, for the wall people face between sets: a commercial gym, a boxing or functional fitness studio, or the garage gym you built one plate at a time.

The italic letters lean forward, and because they are bold, the tube traces the outline of each one. The dumbbell is drawn in tube beside them. All of it sits in grooves routed in a clear acrylic rectangle about 1/4 in thick, with small rounded corners.

Gyms are rough on anything hung on a wall, so place it with care:

• mount it high, above the reach of bars, kettlebells and medicine balls, and away from wall-ball targets
• on block or concrete, set the wall standoffs with masonry anchors; on drywall, find a stud or use the anchors in the kit
• hanging from an open ceiling, use four cables so the sign does not swing
• on a mirror wall, no-drill mounts hold on clean glass

In a garage or an unheated space that gets damp, the outdoor build seals the tube and connections to IP67; keep the adapter dry. A commercial gym can ask for a flame-retardant polycarbonate backboard if a fire inspector requires it.
