Rainbow Neon Sign with Clouds, Multicolor

Three arcs in red, yellow and blue, with a small white cloud at each end. A rainbow is a picture rather than a word, so it suits rooms for children of any age: a nursery wall away from the crib, the space over a bed, a playroom or a daycare hallway.

Several tube colors in one sign cost nothing extra. Each arc is its own run of flexible silicone LED tube, and the clouds are drawn in outline in white tube. All of it sits in grooves routed in one clear acrylic board about 1/4 in thick, cut to a smooth outline around the rainbow. Against a pale wall the board fades away and the colors seem to hang on their own.

About the color options: choose single color to get the red, yellow, blue and white as pictured, each fixed in its own tube. The color changing version is run from a remote that sets a color or cycles through colors instead. Prefer pastels? Light pink, light purple, ice blue and lemon yellow are among our 18 tube colors and can replace the pictured ones on the free proof.

For a daycare, playroom or nursery:

• mount it high, out of reach, on wall standoffs or no-drill mounts
• keep the adapter and cable away from cribs, beds and play areas
• ask for a flame-retardant polycarbonate (PC) backboard where a fire inspector requires it

The sign runs on 12 V DC from a plug-in adapter, with a dimmer for nap time. Production takes 15 to 20 days after you approve the proof, plus 3 to 5 days in transit, and the warranty is 2 years with free repair.

A rainbow is wider than it is tall, so it sits naturally above a bed, a dresser or a window. On a nursery wall or above a dresser, 20 or 24 in is enough. Over a child's bed, choose 30 or 36 in; across a playroom or daycare wall, 48 or 60 in.

Keep single color for the colors as pictured, and ask for pastels on the proof if the room is soft and pale.

Use wall standoffs in a daycare or playroom, and no-drill mounts on smooth, sealed walls at home. The indoor build is the right one.
