Hair Salon Neon Sign with Scissors

A pair of white scissors above “Hair Salon” in pink script. It works at the front of a full salon, and it is just as much at home in a rented booth or suite, a barber's corner or a home salon, where one sign does the work of a storefront.

The scissors are drawn in outline in white tube, and the words follow the centre of each script stroke in pink. Both colors come in one sign at no extra cost, set into grooves in a single clear acrylic board about 1/4 in thick.

If you rent a booth or a suite, think about moving day. No-drill adhesive mounts hold on smooth, sealed walls, on tile and on the glass of a mirror. Their caps unscrew, so the sign lifts off and goes with you, and spare mount sets are sold separately for the next space. In a salon you own, wall standoffs float the sign about 1 in off the wall.

Salon air carries hairspray, and over time a film settles on every surface. Wipe the board now and then with a soft cloth and mild soapy water; avoid glass cleaner, alcohol and solvents, which can cloud acrylic.

For a barbershop you may want a different palette: ask for blue, red or white on the free proof at no extra charge, or choose color changing and set the color from the remote.

The sign runs on 12 V DC from a plug-in adapter, with a dimmer included, and a flame-retardant polycarbonate backboard is available where a fire inspector requires it. It is made to order, 15 to 20 days after you approve the proof plus 3 to 5 days in transit, with a 2-year warranty and free repair.

Above a single chair or inside a booth, 20 or 24 in is right. Behind reception or along the main wall, choose 30 or 36 in. In a storefront window or on a large salon wall, 48 or 60 in.

White and pink are pictured; keep the single color option for both as shown, or ask for other colors on the proof.

Use no-drill mounts for rented booths and mirror walls, wall standoffs for a permanent wall, and ceiling cables in a window. The indoor build is the one you need.
